Contactless check-in — a message from The Receptionist CEO Andy Alsop

Last week we sent out a customer survey to better understand the challenges our users are facing as stay-at-home mandates begin to relax and businesses re-open their doors.

So far, we have received tremendous feedback. To those who took the survey, thank you! Each response helps to guide our decision making as we explore the best ways to ensure your facility or office is safe for you, your employees, and your visitors.

(If you haven’t responded yet, even if you’re not a customer, I invite you to take the survey. It only takes a few minutes and helps our team immensely.)

From the responses we have received so far, one request rose above the rest as a truly safer method to return to our workspaces: an option for contactless or no-touch visitor and employee check-in.

I’m proud to tell you that, even prior to last week’s survey, our engineers, led by our Director of Engineering, DeLynn Berry, have been actively developing our contactless solutions. Once launched, the option will allow visitors to check-in on a mobile device — without needing to download an app.

Our contactless solution will allow your visitors to begin a check-in from their mobile device by scanning a QR code on the iPad. If you would like to prevent crowding in your reception area, our solution will support that by allowing visitors to begin the check-in process by sending an SMS message to your system.

Once a visitor completes the check-in process on their mobile device a unique QR code will be presented to the visitor. Without ever having to touch the iPad, a visitor will be able to present the code to the iPad which will record their arrival and maintain the integrity of your visit log.

I assure you our entire team is working diligently to create the kind of secure, efficient, and intuitive experience our customers expect from us. Your continued feedback will help us enhance and refine our contactless experience.

DeLynn gave the team a preliminary demonstration of contactless check-in this past Thursday, and we’re all truly excited about providing this solution to our customers. We expect to release the initial version within the next few weeks.

Just reach out to [email protected] to be added to our list of customers who will be notified first when we release the new functionality.

In the meantime, I want to point you to our COVID-19 resource center.  We are adding content to the resource center regularly, and many of your how-to questions can be answered there.

Our team is here to help you. We invite you to call, email, or chat with us through our website if there is anything we can do for you.

Sincerely,

Andy Alsop
